Values

Community-Actions-Compassion

Within the HCBE USA-C, we are convinced that certain moral and societal values are essential for the development of every human being. Indeed, these call for individual and collective efforts for the benefit of all. They also concern a certain tolerance which makes weakness and difference from others, opportunities to better cultivate a better life together. Far from all philosophical considerations, this view of things must apply to all forms of human relations, whatever the objectives. Thus, we have summarized all these moral principles in three essential points.

Community :

We cannot emerge if we operate in a vacuum or if we cling to unhealthy competition. Therefore, all members of the Beninese diaspora, living in the USA and the Caribbean must make their own, this obvious. Having understood this, we are working to fertilize this ancestral culture characterizing African society in general and that of Benin in particular. So, we will strive to stimulate a synergy of actions in order to move forward in close line, towards the achievement of the objectives that we have freely set for ourselves.

Actions :

Of course ! We cannot sit idly by and envision the situation of members of our community improving. On the contrary, we firmly believe that only intelligent proactivity can move the lines. This is why we operate according to a well-defined action program. It is also collegially developed, in order to satisfy the greatest number. Better still, our actions have no limit except the extent of the possibilities offered and those torn off. Therefore, we are committed to working for the individual and collective development of members, but also to always keep the banner of Benin high in our host countries.

Compassion :

For us, nothing takes precedence over the spirit of solidarity, the basis of a viable and reliable association. Because the weakest will succeed in blossoming, if they feel loved, protected and strengthened. This is why we prioritize this value and work to instill it in each member of our association. However, we do not accept compassion as pity, a derogatory and contemptuous term. In reality for us, compassion is a willingness to share the difficulties of others, while striving to dispel them in all sincerity. So, by becoming a member of our association, you have the certainty of joining a community that will support you, as soon as the need arises, without any prejudice.
